Summer Hollybobs – Hanoi part 1

Arrived in Hanoi to stay at the very nice Hanoi Moment Hotel. Stunningly good service and very central location. Great breakfasts too. Loved the Pho (Vietnamese noodles) and actually started drinking coffee there. The Vietnamese coffee is very different to normal coffee (which I hate) so that was a nice surprise.

Day one saw us going for a bit of a wander. We ended up at the national history museum which had some nice statues, etc. Then we went to Hoa Lo Prison (the Hanoi Hilton) which was very interesting. There was a nice picture of John McCain which I enjoyed. Finally, in the evening we went to the “Soul of Vietnam” show at the opera house.

Hanoi is a great city to walk around as the central area is very small. People were very friendly and it all felt very safe. Excellent first day!
